What is Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (BC/DR)?
BC/DR is an incident management program built to provide companies with a simple, repeatable and sustainable process for business continuity and disaster recovery.
Business Continuity (BC) is focused on business processes, not on IT systems. BC is typically defined as the ability to continue business after a disastrous event until IT systems can be brought back up and normal business to resume.
Disaster Recovery (DR) works tandem with BC, by focusing on getting the IT systems back online to support the company's business processes after they've been interrupted. The manual workarounds developed support and interact with the BC plans, while seamlessly tying together with the DR plan until the technology is back online.
